BOBBY NIPPER
Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Mandolin, Vocals
Bobby picked up the guitar at a very young age. His parents say from the time he got his first guitar from Sears it was hard to get him to put it down. He played in garage bands during high school and college, and since then has played in several successful bands playing both original and cover music all over the southeast. He is heavily influenced by the guitar oriented Hair Bands of the 80’s but also has a true appreciation for almost every style of music. He’s truly happy on stage playing classic rock where he can share musical memories with the audience.
MICHAEL YORK
Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Harmonica, Vocals
Michael York began playing music at the age of 7 starting with the piano. 6 weeks later his piano teacher died, so that was the end of that. At 14 he began playing bluegrass banjo. At 15 he started playing guitar and never looked back. Rock, Blues, Jazz, southern, northern, beach music (west coast style)…didn’t matter. In high school he sang in the school chorus and barbershop quartet. According to Mike, “It was good training”. Playing in clubs in the 80s and 90s up and down the east coast, the Carolinas, and Florida just added fuel to his quest. A few years and several really good bands later, he is now a Time Pilot. VFR and IFR certified to help take you back to the time and place where you can grab a lost memory or two and smile. Hope you enjoy your flight.
CHRISTOPHER SLOAN
Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals
Christopher Sloan grew up making music in upstate South Carolina. He started singing in church and school choirs at the tender age of 6. He taught himself to play piano and keyboards in middle school, and he picked up the bass guitar during his later high school days. Though he has played in a handful of rock/pop/country bands over the years, Chris has spent the majority of his life playing in and working with organized school bands and ensembles. Chris attended Clemson University where he played trumpet and trombone in the marching Tiger Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Basketball Pep Band, and Symphony Orchestra. He has also been heavily involved in church bands and music ministries across the upstate. Chris and his wife Tamara own Imagine! Studios Fine Art Photography and Design, and are the official photographers of the Clemson University Tiger Band!
PETER SIMMS
Keyboards, Bass Guitar, Auxiliary Percussion, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals
Peter is a South Carolina native and a musician from birth (and has the awkward baby pictures to prove it). He is primarily a vocalist having sung in high school and college choirs and a cappella groups, as well as the Greenville Chorale and Rivertree Singers most recently. As Peter is a fan of classic rock as well as modern indie/alternative music, the Time Pilots provides a creative outlet and a chance to cut his teeth with some of the most talented blokes in town. When he’s not laying down iconic 80s riffs, Peter teaches choir at Travelers Rest High School.
BRAD MOREE
Drums & Percussion, Vocals
Brad, an Akron Ohio native began playing drums at age 5. Being a member of a musical family, he joined the musician union at age 16 and expanded his musical genres…from playing with a Dixieland group (where he immediately lowered the average age of the band) to playing with his mother and her 3 piece jazz ensemble in the Summit Jazz Society. Brad’s dad was a drummer and his first mentor, fostering Brad’s love of drums! Brad continued to grow his musicianship playing everything from debutant balls at Firestone Park to area school proms and weddings. He joined Elegy, a well-known Ohio early 90’s contemporary and pop/rock group, as they showcased their talents throughout Akron. Brad moved to North Carolina in 2001, hooking up with various local Wilmington area bands playing the beach circuit. His drumming drove his band (known as Face Down) at Margaritaville and the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. With his move to South Carolina, Brad joined the Low Country Wind Symphony until COVID came to town. Now settled in Greer SC, he now drums for The Time Pilots – returning to the music of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s and carrying audiences back in time with a smooth flight.
Former Pilots
DANIEL MALONE
Drums & Percussion, Vocals
At the age of 8 years old, Daniel expressed great interest in his newly discovered ability to hear and keep rhythm. His parents were both musically inclined and knew he had a natural talent for music from an even earlier age as he sang and performed solos in kids choir as a toddler. He played drums for his local church in youth and adult services through his teenage years and by the time Daniel was in his early adulthood, he co-wrote and recorded original songs with his first band and traveled the east coast performing shows and entertaining crowds. With an eclectic sound influenced by bands like Blink182, Tool, Staind, Incubus, Van Halen, and Dave Matthews Band, Daniel brought complexity, creativity, and passionate energy to the stage every single time.
TOM “DRUMS” POLIZZI
